affiliation. The person needing help should call the Love INC office
to request assistance.
What is Love
INC?
Love In the Name of Christ is a strategy to help members of local churches in
Gallatin County, Montana (Bozeman, Belgrade, Manhattan, Gallatin Gateway
and Three Forks) help
their neighbors.
It is a network of churches, linking resources
with needs.
It is a cooperative effort between churches and social
service agencies to provide effective help for the disadvantaged.
Why do the communities in Gallatin County need Love
INC?
Because existing resources from agencies are insufficient
to meet the level of need. Because church members frequently want
to volunteer and are otherwise underutilized.
Love INC is a
proven ministry.
Love INC is active in 36 states, involving over 8,000
congregations. Gallatin County Love INC is an independent affiliate of
the national Love INC organization.
The main work of Love INC is to
link people with needs to church volunteers who can meet those
needs. Needs that are not met elsewhere. Needs that
"fall through the cracks" but are critically important, often
debilitating, for those who have those needs.
The year 2005 marked the 10th year of service for
Gallatin County Love INC.
Gallatin County Love INC opened its Bozeman,
Montana, Clearinghouse (a telephone referral and intake processing
office) in 1995. Since then, it has
responded to thousands of requests for assistance from Gallatin County
residents.
The Clearinghouse empowers local churches to share
Christ's love by providing the necessary link between church
volunteers,
social service agencies, and those in need in our communities.
Love INC further fulfills its mission
by researching needs in Gallatin County and then offering ministry
development initiatives and support to its partner
churches.
So often Jesus Christ taught His disciples to meet
people at their point of need...
feed the hungry
care for the ill and the weak
welcome children
comfort the distressed
clothe the naked
visit the prisoners
