What happens when the Love INC Clearinghouse office
determines that a request for help can be met by a church volunteer?
Here's an overview....
1. The Talent Tithe Inventory Summary
Since each partner church has collected a Talent
Tithe Inventory from members who want to volunteer, Love INC
has been supplied with summary information about available volunteers
in each church and the services each
church's volunteers can offer.
The Love INC office finds a
church that has volunteers or a church ministry ready and willing to meet the need that has
been called in.
2. The Church Contact
Person
Each partner church is required to have a Church
Ministry Coordinator, who has been trained by the Love INC staff.
This person is Love INC's point of contact with the church's
volunteers and ministries. Church Contact Persons help ensure
that the church is aware of community needs, and that the church
supplies volunteer to meet requests for help.
3. The Talent Tithe Inventory
Love INC relies upon its inventory of Talent Tithes,
supplied by willing volunteers in partner churches, to meet
needs. This information lets us know who is able to do what
kinds of service. The Clearinghouse makes referrals based on the
information supplied on Talent Tithes.
4. The Church Volunteer
Upon receiving a call from Love INC, the church volunteer decides whether or not he/she will be
able to meet the need in the timeframe specified. If so, he/she
moves as quickly as possible to meet the need. Upon completion,
the volunteer reports that the need has
been met.
5. Follow-Up
When Love INC learns from the
volunteer that the need has been met, the Love INC
office calls the person served to make sure the service was done
completely and satisfactorily.
