A Ministry Incubator
Love INC discovers, through its day-to-day
work and through deliberate research, people's needs that currently are not
being met. In response, we select some of those needs and work
to develop a ministry response to meet them.
Once a possible
ministry response has been developed, the idea is presented to our partner
churches. Then, one or several churches may decide that this is the kind of
ministry they would like to offer. If a church is found that wants
to spearhead this ministry, Love INC works with the church and the other
partner churches to develop the ministry. We also refer people to the
lead church to receive goods or services from this ministry.
For example, in 2002-2003, Love INC worked to
develop a Quilting Ministry in response to needs in the
community. In 2003, a Computer Ministry was formed, enlisting
technical volunteers and know-how from many churches.
In 2004, a Personal Care Pantry was
established. The Pantry supplies personal care products to people in
need.
In 2005, a Linen Closet was formed to
supply new and lightly used, quality linens to households.
In all these ministries, we work with agencies, groups and providers in the community to make sure that
people who are being served truly have a need and will benefit by the
ministry offered.
