In Our Office
What happens in
the Love INC Clearinghouse office when someone calls us for help?
Here's an overview....
1. Intake
When someone calls Love INC for assistance, a
trained volunteer answers the phone. This may be a receptionist,
who will direct the call appropriately or take a message; or, it may
be an in-take advisor.
A person requesting help will be connected with an
in-take advisor. The in-take advisor conducts an interview with
the person who has a need. This information is necessary for
understanding the need and for tracking the request for help from
beginning to end.

2. Verification
After the in-take information has been gathered, the
Love INC office confirms its accuracy and tries to further determine
the scope of the need. We always strive to work with agencies to
make sure people are given the service they need and that resources
already available are not duplicated. Throughout this process,
confidentiality is maintained; for verification purposes, the person
with the request will provide references and/or signed releases.
3. Referral
Validated needs are then referred to either
specialized professional help, a local agency or organization or
ministry, or a partner church.
Our first priority is to utilize programs and resources that are
already available. If no help is available to meet the
need, we will then contact a partner church for assistance.
4. Follow-Up
Needs that are met by partner churches are followed
up on by the church's Love INC Contact Person. This information
is given back to the Love INC office so that we can track the request
or refer it for further assistance elsewhere.
