Are you a mechanic? Or, can you do an occasional
minor repair or even an oil change on a vehicle? Can you assess a
vehicle to determine what kinds of repairs are needed? Or, do you
have an older car in decent running condition that you'd like to donate
(vehicle donations are tax deductible)?
One ministry that Love INC is well-known for in Gallatin
County is its Vehicle Ministry. This ministry is most appreciated,
not only by the needy people who receive cars or car repairs, but also by
agencies and service organizations and even businesses in our area.
Love INC's Vehicle Ministry makes a difference in many lives.
The Vehicle Ministry has two facets:
Vehicle
Repairs. Working with the Bozeman Home Mission, a ministry of
volunteer mechanics who work on cars one Saturday each month, Love INC
provides free car repairs for needy women, especially single
mothers. In addition, Love INC church volunteers who are mechanics
provide minor car repairs as needed. Frequently,
Love INC can obtain parts for these repairs at a reduced price, thanks to
the generosity of local car parts dealers. Most recipients of car
repairs are required to meet with a budget counselor.
Vehicle
Donations. Thanks to the generosity of donors in Gallatin
County, Love INC is able to place several donated vehicles, free of
charge, with people who are unable to purchase a car but need it for
family care and/or employment. Strong preference is given to single
mothers. Recipients are required to have a valid driver's license,
pay for insurance, title transfer fee and vehicle registration. In
addition, our desire is to help others with the gift of a vehicle, not to
place a burden upon them that their current financial situation cannot
bear. Therefore, potential recipients are required to have a budget
review prior to receiving a car; if approved, recipients then attend
multiple budget counseling
sessions.

Love INC seeks to involve church volunteers, utilizing
their gifts and talents, to minister to material, emotional and spiritual
needs of Gallatin County residents. The Vehicle Ministry is one way
Love INC involves and coordinates volunteers from several churches to
minister to the material needs of our neighbors.
